In San Diego, the Padres Foundation supports the Padres Rookie League programs (formerly known as Padres RBI), which provides children that live in at-risk communities an outlet to thrive through baseball/softball and teamwork. This free instructional baseball and softball program serves boys and girls from 5-13 throughout the region. The Padres Foundation furnishes leagues with everything they need including jerseys, hats, baseball equipment, and tickets to Padres games.  Free mitts are provided by the Masons of California. In 2025, the Padres will continue to operate 10 sites, including the only site on an active military base and the only binational site.
